TOPIC : ABIDING IN HIM WITHOUT LOOKING BACK.
John 15:5 KJV
"I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing."
What brings about light is two wires that are joined together. If you cut a wire and separate them from each other, they will be useless by themselves. The light won't come out. Wires have to be joined together before they can produce light.
So, what produces light in our lives to influence the people around us and those that comes our way, is abiding in Him (Christ ).
This is because our continuous abiding is what determines the continuous experience of revival. Our continuous abiding is what determines the continuous experience of His presence.
Our continuous and consistent abiding is what determines the continuous experience of His power and divine presence.
It is always a deadly mistake to fail to abide. And once a man fails to abide, tragedy always follow.
This is why the Lord says that we have to abide in Him because we can't bear fruits ourselves; we can't get answers to prayer ourselves; we can't achieve anything ourselves, except we abide in Him. Today you will abide.
Now, what are the signs that you are stepping out of His abode? What are the signs that you are coming out of abiding?
SIGNS YOU ARE COMING OUT OF HIS ABODE
1. SPIRITUAL PRIDE
When one begins to focus on his work for God than his life for God, there is a big problem.
If you focus your entire life working for God and not to walk with God, there is a problem.
When you are praising your abilities, "I am the one. Without me they can't do it. I can do this and that," there is a big problem. This is because we can't run the heavenly race without Christ.
And the Bible says, "Pride goeth before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall." (Proverbs 16:18).
Spiritual pride - of grace; of utterance; of ministrations; of what God is using you to do; of talent and so on.
When you begin to boast like Peter who said, "Others may forsake you but I, Peter, whether death or life, I will follow you." You know the rest of the story. Did he follow? He did not. If not that Jesus prayed for him, I don't know what would have become of him.
So instead of boasting of your spiritual abilities, give glory. Whatever you are doing; whatever you have achieved in your Christian life, it is by the grace of God. So, you give glory to God.
So, when you noticed spiritual pride, you are stepping out of His abode.
Prayer : Anything in my life that will make me a castaway, oh Lord take it away.
